Salute to Indian Forces T20 Tourney

JAMMU, Apr 29: Simula Cricket Club today qualified for the semifinals of the ongoing Salute to Indian Forces Open Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Parade Sports Association (PSA) at Parade Ground, here.
Now, in the semifinals, slated for tomorrow, Simula will take on NCC at 8.30 am.
Earlier, in the quarterfinals, Simula defeated Vishal Cricket Club by 25 runs.
Batting first, Simula made 177 runs for five with Puneet (50) being highest run getter, followed by Atul (34). Shashi and Vivek contributed unbeaten 17 runs each. From Vishal Club, Shoaib took two wickets, followed by Ramandeep, Praful and Robin one each.
Chasing a run-rate of near nine-run per over, Vishal club bowled out for 142 runs. Ramandeep contributed unbeaten 46 while Abhishant and Robin added 38 and 14 runs respectively. Kuldeep bowled deadly spell taking away four wickets while Shashi claimed three.
For his all round performance of unbeaten 17 runs and three wickets, Shashi was named man of the match.
The match was officiated by Jannu and Sanjay Koul as umpires while Amarajeet Singh was scorer.
FIXTURE: Simula to take on NCC at 8.30 am in the semifinals.
