Singh Akhnoor Lions outplays MIER Academy by 14 runs

JAMMU, Nov 5: Singh Akhnoor Lions outplayed MIER Cricket Academy by  a narrow margin of 14 runs in the last league match of the Under-15 Diwali Cricket Cup at Parade Ground, here today.
Jammu Rising Stars and Jammu Vishal Stars have already made it to the finals of this tournament and will take on each other at the same venue on November 7, 2016 in the summit clash.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Singh Akhnoor Lions scored a decent total of 137 runs in the stipulated 18 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Amit played a magnificent innings of unbeaten 69 runs, while Shugam and Rohit contributed 20 and 18 runs to the total respectively. For MIER Cricket Academy, Yogan Dhar and Udhay took 2 wickets each, while Karmanya claimed one wicket.
In reply, MIER Cricket Academy scored 123 runs in the allotted overs by losing 5 wickets, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 14 runs. Aprajit top scored with 24 runs, while Kapil and Udhay contributed 22 and 18 runs to the total respectively.
For Singh Akhnoor Lions, Ritvik took 2 wickets, Pankush claimed one. Amit was adjudged as man of the match for his magnificent knock.
In tomorrow’s fixture of 5th Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Cup, KC Sports Club will take on Vishal Cricket Club at 10 am in the first semifinal, while Singh Akhnoor Cricket Club will face Simula Sports in the second semifinal at 1.30 pm.
The tournament in which 4 teams are participating is being organized jointly by Simula Sports and Vishal Club in collaboration with Jammu Police and Jammu Sports Council.The organizing committee includes Hilal Rather, Ranjeet Kalra, Rajesh Dhar, RP Singh, Anand Tripathi, Vivek Sharma, Saleem Ur Rehman,Vijay Saberwal, Vivek Shekher, Madan Mohan, Sadiq Hussain and Sandeep Manchanda,whereas Rajesh  Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer and Former Ranji Player is the Oraganizing Secretary of the event.
