JAMMU, Feb 11: Singh CC Akhnoor defeated Daud CC by 56 runs and sailed into quarter finals round in the ongoing 1st Suram Singh Memorial Cup-T20, being played at KC Sports Club Cricket Ground, here today.
Batting first, Singh CC scored 143 by losing all wickets in 18.2 overs. Shanty made highest 56 runs, while Sunny Mahi and Sunil contributed 46 and 14 runs respectively. From bowling side, Zubair got four wickets, while Tehseem bagged three wickets and Asif and Zahid clinched two and one wicket respectively.
Chasing the set target, given by Singh CC, the opponent team bundled out on 87 runs in 17.2 overs and lost the match by 56 runs. Mehraj made 19 runs and Masin scored 13 runs. From bowling side, Sunil, Abhi, Sumit Pandit and Sumit shared two wickets each and SS Langeh and Sunny Mahi clinched one wicket each. Shanty was declared as man of the match, while Ashok Singh and Dinesh Kumar were umpires and Sabstan acted as scorer.
