JAMMU, June 25: Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor registered a narrow win by 4 runs over Baba Jitto Cricket Club to advance into the next round of the ongoing 5th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Singh Cricket Club at Government Higher Secondary School Ground, here. Earlier, batting first, Singh Club scored a decent total of 160 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Sunny Kumar played a brilliant innings of 71 runs off just 42 balls, while Gourav contributed valuable 32 runs to the total. Rahul Mani and Asif chipped in with 14 runs each. For Baba Jitto Club, Lavlu and Happy bagged 2 wickets each, while Narrotam claimed one wicket. In reply, Baba Jitto Club fell just short of 4 runs as they managed to score 156 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 9 wickets to lose the match by 4 runs. Deepak was the top scorer with 47 runs, while Happy contributed 26 runs to the total. For Singh Club, Dilawar Singh and Asif claimed 2 wickets each, while skipper Sham Singh Langeh, Umesh, Sunny Kumar and Firdous took one wicket apiece. Sunny Kumar was adjudged man of the match for his fabulous knock. The match was officiated by Joginder Mangotra, Vikas Bali and Ajay Bhagat.
