AKHNOOR, Dec 27: Singh Challenger Akhnoor defeated Adarsh Cricket Club Akhnoor by 7 wickets in the ongoing Christmas Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School Playfield, here.
Batting first, Adarsh Cricket Club scored 124 runs in 19.4 overs. Deepak Sharma was the top scorer with 34 runs, which included 3 massive sixes, while Ashok Sharma contributed brisk 29 runs off 13 balls with the help of 2 fours and 3 sixes. For Singh Challenger Neeraj, Avitash and Pankaj bagged 2 wickets each, while Bishan and Vinod claimed one wicket each.
Singh Challenger Club, in reply achieved the target in 16.4 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Sagar Verma played a brilliant innings of 60 runs, studded with 5 boundaries and 4 sixes, while Bishan and Rahul Langer contributed 32 and 21 runs to the total respectively. Sourav, Ashok and Vikas Virdhi claimed one wicket each. Sagar Verma was adjudged man of the match for marvelous batting display.
