JAMMU, Apr 29: Singh Cricket Club (SCC) registered a 5-wicket win against Birpur Cricket Club (BCC) in the ongoing Patriot`s Cup (50 overs) Cricket Tournament at Country Cricket Stadium Gharota, near here.
Batting first, BCC could make 144 runs losing all their wickets in 37.3 overs. Sanjay batted well to contribute highest 55 runs while Akshay added valuabla 38. Sandeep and Deepak were other batsmen to touch the double figure mark with 13 and 12 runs respectively. From SSC, Sunil clinched four wickets, followed by Jatin, who bagged three. Sham Singh and Lakhan claimed two and one wicket respectively.
In reply, SCC chased the target of 145 runs in mere 16 overs for the loss of five wickets. Lakhan played fine innings of 41 runs while JV singh and Jatin Whadhawan added 31 and 27 runs respectively. Mannu contributed 22 runs to the total. From BCC, Sanjay once again came into prominence by bowling out two wickets and holding on brilliant catches in fielding. Ghirdhari, Waseem and Ankush shared apiece each.
Sunil with his four wickets haul in five overs spell for 11 runs was adjudged man of the match.
