UDHAMPUR, July 6: DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Sujit Kumar today constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for in-depth probe into the day-light murder of a youth, namely Rahul Kumar on July 2, near his house at Dandyal.
“Seven – member SIT has been constituted for expeditious investigation into the case FIR No 294/2020, under section 302 IPC of Police station Udhampur and bring it to a logical end,” the DIG told the Excelsior.
Pertinent to mention that Rahul Bhagat, son of Subash Chander of Dandyal Udhampur was murdered by unknown persons on July 2 over some land dispute. Police has arrested some people accused in the crime and they are under police custody for further probe.
The SIT, headed by Dy SP Hqrs Udhampur, Rohit Chadgal, shall be comprising Ravinder Pal Singh (Sr PO DPO Udhampur), Inspector Charanjeet Singh (DPL Udhampur), SI Arun Slathia (I/C PP Sudhmahadev), SI Gurbachan Lal Thapa (P/S Rehambal), SI Gopal Dass (P/S Udhampur) and HC Javed Aziz-Ul Rehman (P/S Pancheri).
“While initial probe has hinted at a land dispute being the reason behind the crime, the SIT shall conduct in-depth probe into the incident to reveal further mystery related to the murder to provide justice to the deceased boy and his family,” said DIG Sujit Kumar.
