SIT nabs third accused

JAMMU, May 16: After the arrest of couple, who were earlier nabbed in 2010 for running brothel, for killing a 23-year-old girl after chopping her body and dumping it into a septic tank for disposal in a house at Chandan Vihar, Muthi on May 4, the third accused involved in the murder of the girl was arrested from Bhatindi by Special Investigation Team (SIT).
According to SSP Jammu, Uttam Chand, on May 2, Vaishno Devi, wife of Sher Singh Jaral of Sewna Chenani, district Udhampur approached Police Station Gandhi Nagar with the complaint that Sunil Kumar (carpenter), son of Gyanu Kumar of Chinore and his wife Rajni Devi were involved in the kidnapping and illegal confinement of her daughter Shivani Jaral (23) years.
SSP informed that acting on the complaint, a case under FIR number 105/15 under Section 364, 302, 404 and 297/34 RPC was registered with police station Gandhi Nagar and the accused couple was arrested.
After thorough and in-depth questioning of the accused persons, they disclosed that they killed the girl, chopped her body into pieces and dumped the body in septic tank of their rented accommodation at Chandan Vihar, Muthi, which they have hired despite having another rented accommodation at Chinore in which they are residing presently, SSP stated.
During further investigation into the case, SIT found that one more person namely Mohammad Ibrahim, son of Noor Mohammad of Ward number 7 Dingla, district Poonch, who was having illicit relations with Rajni Devi was also involved in the murder of the girl.
On specific information, SIT conducted raid in district Poonch and nabbed Mohammad Ibrahim today from his house at Bhatindi.
“Investigation further reveals that Rajni Devi and Mohammad Ibrahim were involved in illicit relationship since long. Sunil Kumar with the help of Shivani Jaral managed a video camera and tried to record their illicit activities. The camera got exposed after which Mohammad Ibrahim and Rajni Devi decided to kill Shivani by involving Sunil Kumar after threatening the latter and giving him money”, Mr Uttam Chand maintained.
Further investigating into the case is going on to gather more evidence if any.
SIT headed by SDPO City South Sachin Gupta made the arrest along with Inspector Parmjeet Singh, SHO police station Gandhi Nagar, ASI Hazara Singh, ASI Babu Ram and HC Satvir Singh.
