RAJOURI, Oct 10: Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Rajouri police is said to have solved the blind murder of 7-year-old school boy within just two days after the Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Rajesh Kumar set up the team for the task after massive public cry over the gruesome killing.
Sources said that the SIT head by SP Rajouri, Mubassar Latiffi and assisted by ASP Sanjay Sharma and DySP Operation Aijaz Sheikh acting on the basis of some clues, picked up two suspects hailing from Thannamandi area and presently residing in Bela Colony in Rajouri town. They were placed under sustained interrogation. Later, the wife of one of them was also brought to the Police Station and placed under sustained questioning.
After long session, the woman broke and revealed the matter. Upon this, her husband who was also being grilled by police team separately, also admitted his guilt and revealed that how they killed the boy and then packed in the plastic bag and then placed in the under construction house of Abdul Qayoom where one of them had worked as labourer some time back. Though accused were giving flickering account of the motive behind the killing but it was indicated that some old enmity was reason behind the killing.
Identified as Imtiaz Ahmed, son of Agrez Ahmed of Rajdhani in Thannamandi and his wife- Shareen are now in police net besides their associate Abdi Hussain of the same village. Their house is hardly, 3 kms away from Shahdara Sharief. The name of one more accused has figured in the case but he escaped after the police party raided one place in Rajdhani area of Thannamandi.
It is pertinent to mention here that relatives and people of Kheora area had staged strong protest demonstration at Gujjar Mandi Chowk along with the dead body of this 7-year-old boy Salik Mansoor, son of Patwari Qazi Mansoor of Shahdara Shrief, presently residing at Dahshabad Colony near Kheora in Rajouri town. The boy went missing after returning from his Army Public School on Monday last.
The deceased’s body, with multiple torture marks was found packed in a plastic bag in an under-construction house in Bela Colony of Rajouri town the next day. The land lord Abdul Qayoom noticed the body and informed police. The Police party shifted the body to district hospital Rajouri for postmortem. The IGP who visited the town yesterday set up SIT on public demand.
