JAMMU, June 11: Six students of KC Public School (KCPS) participated in the 5 day-long Round Square Conference hosted by The Lawrence School, Sanawar from June 5 to 9.
The delegates in the age group of 11 to 13 years were Aseemta Gupta, Aviral Kapoor, Ahaana Kohli, Garv Sharma, Harshit Kotwal and Vivaan Saroch.
About 244 delegates from various Round Square member schools such as Lawrence School Lovedale, Dhirubhai Ambani International School-Mumbai, Mayo College-Ajmer, Welham Boys’ School-Dehradun, The Doon School-Dehradun, The Daly College-Indore, Indian High School-Dubai, Hyderabad Public School and Emerald Heights International School-Indore, attended the Conference.
The theme of the Conference was ‘Protect, Preserve, Progress for Sustainable Happiness.’ which aimed at focusing on the significance of future for the global generation of today and to what extent collective and joint preparations could be made to steer human destiny into a positive direct in view of the new challenges emerging at a fast pace in the 21st century.
A wide range of activities such as the opening ceremony, thought-provoking keynote addresses by eminent speakers, Kartick Satyanarayan (Co-founder and CEO, Wildlife SOS), Arjun Kochar (Founder and Programmer- LeoDeo), Lt. General Kamal Davar, Rituparna Ghosh (Founder – ‘Your Story Bag’) who spoke on how one person’s happiness is sustained by that of another only by educating young minds, hearts and souls kept the delegates busy throughout the conference.
The guest of honour for the opening ceremony was Rajbir Sandhu (Round Square schools’ Support Director – South Asia and Gulf). Samarth Pathak (Representative of United Nations office on Drugs and Crime and Advocacy lead and Regional Focal point – South Asia) and Marco Teixeira (Representative of United Nations office on Drugs and Crime – South Asia) were the guests of honour for the closing ceremony.
