DODA, July 2: Six Taekwondo athletes from district Doda have been selected for the 40th Junior National Kyorugi and 13th Junior National Poomsae Taekwondo Championships to be held at Shimoga, Karnataka.
J&K Taekwondo Association held selection trials for 40th Junior National Kyorugi and 13th Junior National Poomsae Taekwondo Championships on 27th of June. This selection was purely open for all potential athletes of J&K. Around 30 players participated from different districts throughout the UT. The selected players will represent team J&K at 40th Junior National Kyorugi and 13th Junior National Poomsae Taekwondo Championships to be held at Shimoga Karnataka.
Atul Pangotra (NIS Taekwondo Coach) was appointed as Incharge by JKSC for the selection trials which took place at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, Jammu. Krupali Singh (Arjun Awardee and Senior Gymnastics Coach) was appointed as observer by J&K Sports Council and the Selection Committee was formed by J&K Taekwondo Association which was headed by Atul Pangotra.
President JKTA Rajesh Pangotra, general secretary JKTA Ramesh Chander Sharma and president DDTA Junaid Ali Khan assured the selected players proper support from the Association. The players selected for National Taekwondo Championships are Kashif Iqbal (Jr Boys under 55 kg), Khadija Ul Qubra (Jr Girls under 44 kg), Radha Sharma (Jr Girls under 49 kg), Sania Mumtaz (Jr Girls under 55 kg), Moomin Malik (Jr Boys Team Poomsae) and Tahir Mushtaq (Jr Boys Team Poomsae).
