Ski Snowboarding Championship concludes at Gulmarg

SRINAGAR, Feb 20: 6-day Senior Alpine Ski Snowboarding Championship-2014, organized jointly by Winter Games Federation of India and J&K Winter Games Association concluded at world famous tourist spot, Gulmarg today.
60 skiers including 8 teams drawn from various parts of country participated in the Championship.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Shalindra Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah and Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone were among the dignitaries present on the occasion.
24 prominent skiers were awarded with certificates and trophies while as other participants were felicitated with mementoes.
Interacting with enthusiastic skiers on the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir said that State Government has taken up several initiatives for propagating message of love and peace, aimed at motivating tourists at global level to visit the State to improve economy of the State.
He said that the Ski Snowboarding championship-2014 bagged great applause from within and outside the country and steps are afoot to promote more such activities at other tourist attraction of the State.
