GULMARG, Feb 18: Two weeks skiing camp under Sadhbhavana, organised by Army Camp, Ziran of the Chinar Artillery Brigade for local children of Tangmarg got underway at the famous Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering, here today.
The 14 days course is being organised as an endeavour to introduce poor children of J&K to adventure sports and instill in them a sense of sportsmanship and help them in their all round development.
A total of 30 children both boys and girls will take part in the training to learn the basics of skiing at IISM.
Dr Syed Noor-ul-Amin, Sarpanch of Quazipora inaugurated the camp in a well attended function and expressed satisfaction over the opportunities given to the children by the Army in providing training to them.
