Skipper Kuldeep, Jatin, Satish take RCC Srinagar to finals

JAMMU, Mar 11: A splendid bowling display by skipper Kuldeep Kumar and brilliant knocks by Jatin Wadhawan and Satish Kumar helped Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar to thrash formidable team of National Cricket Club by 56 runs to seal berth in the finals of the ongoing Salute & Tribute to Siachen Martyrs Cricket Tournament, being organized by Parade Sports Association at Parade ground, here.
Earlier, put into bat, RCC Srinagar scored a decent total of 158 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Jatin Wadhawan was the top scorer with 45 runs off 32 balls, studded with 4 fours and 2 sixes, while Satish Kumar contributed valuable 31 runs off 32 balls with the help of 5 delectable boundaries. Ateev Saini and Akash Choudhary chipped in with unbeaten 18 and 13 runs respectively. For NCC, Vijay Dogra was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 important wickets by conceding 15 runs in his 4 overs, while Mayank Gautam claimed one wicket.
In reply, NCC bundled out for 102 runs, thus lost the match by 56 runs. Pranav Gupta and Aditya Partap Singh scored 22 runs each, while Rakesh Kumar and Manish Dogra chipped in with 13 and 10 runs respectively. For RCC Srinagar, Kuldeep Kumar was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 4 wickets by conceding 14 runs in his 3.5 overs, while Sourav Chopra and Satish Kumar bagged 2 wickets each and Nitin Mehra claimed one. For his magnificent bowling display, Kuldeep Kumar was adjudged as man of the match.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik and JD Singh as umpires, while Amarjeet Singh was the scorer.
