JAMMU, May 14: Joint Action Committee comprises of SKUAST- Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) and SKUAST-Non Teaching Employees Association Jammu (SKUAST-NTEA-J) held first meet at main Campus Chatha in which the JAC discussed the sole issue regarding up gradation of SKUAST-Jammu to Central Agricultural University of Jammu.
The JAC decided to take up the issue with the concerned State and Central Agricultural Ministry for the conversion of only professional, farm and agriculture university of State to CAU. During the meeting it was impressed upon that for the welfare of employees, the JAC will address the common issues pertaining to the teaching and non teaching fraternity of SKUAST-Jammu.
In the meeting, Dr SP Singh from Division of Agricultural Economics and Dr Purshotam Sharma from Division of Agricultural Engineering were nominated as new members of JAC from teaching and non teaching fraternity respectively and it was decided that this committee will be the highest decision making body on all the common issues of the varsity and will work with full dedication and zeal to improve the standards of teaching, research, clerical and other miscellaneous activities of the University and to make the university a centre of excellence.
Appointment on compassionate ground in the light of SRO 43 of 1994, normal fee for employee ward, release of long pending DA installments in favour of all the employees of SKUAST-J were the other issues discussed in this 1st meet of JAC of SKUAST-JAMMU
The meeting was attended by Dr Vikas Sharma, president of SKUAST-TAJ, B N Singh, president of SKUAST-NTEA-J, general secretaries of both the associations (Dr Vivek M Arya and Zamir-ul-Haq) and others.
