JAMMU, Dec 31: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology (SKUAST) Jammu won its 2nd consecutive match here today by defeating Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCS HAU), Hisar in the ongoing All India Vice Chancellor’s T20 Cup tournament at Nagpur University, Maharashtra.
Elected to bat first after winning the toss, CCS HAU Hisar scored 108/10 in the stipulated 20 overs. For SKUAST-Jammu Niraj Singh Manhas and Nissar Ahmed took 3 wickets each and S Kuldeep Singh took 2 wickets.
Chasing 109 runs, SKUAST-Jammu lost two quick wickets inside 10 runs but then Imran Hussain and Niraj Manhas stitched the partnership of 45 runs and took the score past 50 runs. Imran scored a magnificent 29 while Niraj Manhas and Vinod chipped in with 24 & 14 runs respectively.
The lower middle order batsmen played sensibly and achieved the target on the last ball of the innings for the loss of seven wickets and thus won the match by 7 wickets. Niraj Manhas was adjudged player of the match for his all round performance.
