Vice Chancellor’s T-20 Cup Tournament

JAMMU, Jan 2: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Jammu continuing its winning streak in the ongoing Vice Chancellor’s T-20 cup tournament being played at Nagpur University Maharashtra by defeating Central University of Haryana with a margin of 34 runs.
Batting first after winning the toss, the SKUAST-Jammu scored 197/7 runs in their stipulated 20 overs. Imran Hussain continued to impress with his batting by scoring highest 58 runs, Vinod Kumar Wadhwan scored a magnificent half century of 54 runs while Niraj Manhas scored a fluent 35 in just 15 balls. Chasing mammoth 197 runs, the Central University of Haryana managed to score 163/7 in the allotted 20 overs.
For SKUAST-Jammu, Dr Rakesh chipped in with 3 wickets while Kuldeep Singh took 2 wickets. Imran Hussain was adjudged player of the match for his brilliant batting display. The team is coached by Kewal K Raina and Managed by Dheeraj G Choudhary. SKUAST-Jammu will play their next game against Jalgaon University Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, University of Jammu also defeated YCMOU University Nashik by 131 runs to register their 5th win in the ongoing All India Vice Chancellor’s Cup 2023.
University of Jammu scored 266 for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs after batting first. Sandeep Bakshi was top scorer (83), Niranjan 66, Raj Kumar Bakshi 58 not out and Amin 19. Chasing the target, YCMOU University Nashik managed to score only 135 runs in 20 overs by loss of seven wickets. Devi Das scored 41runs, Sandee Bhagwat scored 30 runs and Nikhil Shinde scored as 27 runs. Niranjan was declared as man of the match.
