Slathia distributes Rs 1.38 crore among 480 beneficiaries

JAMMU, Dec 23:  Minister for Industries and Commerce, S S Slathia today distributed cheques worth Rs 1.38 crore among beneficiaries of IAY, National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS), Old age /widow/physically handicapped  beneficial scheme etc. The Minister also awarded 5 cheques for construction of cattle sheds and a tricycle to a physically handicapped person.
These cheques were distributed among the beneficiaries at a function held at Vijaypur .
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the present Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is committed for the upliftment of the people of the State, especially living in the remote and far flung areas.
Mr. Slathia said that the Coalition Government is very much concerned about the welfare of the needy, downtrodden and those sections of the society who are living under BPL and remote areas. He said the Government has already taken a number of steps for the betterment of the weaker sections and is very much concerned about equitable development of all the three regions of the State.
The Minister also addressed a large public meeting at Dhiansar and said that Government would make all out efforts to remove all the hurdles coming in the way of the development of this area.
Responding to the people’s demands, Mr Slathia assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into sympathetically. He also directed the officers to redress the grievances of the common people on priority basis and provide justice at the doors step of the people.
On the occasion, a social worker, Girdhari Lal along with hundred of his supporters joined National Conference.
