VIJAYPUR, Oct 16: Former Minister and MLA Vijaypur Surjeet Singh Slathia today laid foundation stone for construction of lanes and drains in ward No. 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 & 13 at Vijaypur which will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs.21.50 lakh.
He said that the Government is making concerted efforts to meet the basic requirements of the people like drinking water, power, roads, medicare & education while stress is being laid on overall development of the state especially in rural and remote pockets.
While speaking on the occasion, Slathia said that Government is committed to provide improved facilities to the people especially to the rural and remote masses for uplifting their living standard. He said that State Government has launched a number of welfare schemes for the people and asked them to come forward and avail benefits of such schemes.
Slathia cautioned the people about the machinations of vested interests and divisive forces that are misleading the people for furthering their political agenda. He said that National Conference has a chequred history of public services and it has withstood the test of times by maintaining harmony and brotherhood between various sections of the people. He assured the people that the promises made to them by the Government will be fulfilled. He sought people’s whole hearted support to strengthen the hands of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Among others Executive Officer Muncipal Committee, Vijaypur, Sodagar Gupta, Sandhya, Neelam, Girdhari Lal, Ajay Sharma, Panchs and Sarpanchs were also present on the occasion.
