SAMBA, Sept 23: Jammu and Kashmir BJP Vice President and candidate for Samba constituency, Surjeet Singh Slathia, today launched a scathing attack on the Congress for endorsing what he described as a “soft separatist agenda” in Jammu and Kashmir.
Slathia accused the Congress of aligning with divisive forces and playing to Pakistan’s tune, as it continues to hobnob with allies known for their anti-people and anti-reservation stances.
Addressing rallies in Sadyali Nud, Badwani Takki, Arzi Samba, and other areas of Samba Assembly constituency, Slathia said the Congress and its allies, including the National Conference (NC) and PDP, are destined to fail.
He asserted that the BJP is committed to undoing the decades of “rot” created by these parties and steering J&K toward political stability, peace, and progress.
Slathia highlighted the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, as the start of rectifying the wrongs committed by the Congress and its allies.
He challenged the Congress to clarify its stance on this move, especially in light of its alliance with the NC, which continues to oppose the full integration of J&K with India.
Slathia further alleged that Pakistan is openly supporting this Congress-NC alliance.
He criticized Rahul Gandhi for what he termed as the Congress leader’s “Mission Break India,” accusing him of tarnishing India’s image abroad. Slathia called the Congress-NC-PDP alliance a political opportunism, claiming they are no longer relevant in J&K, given their history of misgovernance.
Slathia praised Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a “Naya J&K,” where development is inclusive, free of discrimination, and geared toward creating job opportunities through investments.
He called on voters to support the BJP in the ongoing elections to strengthen the Prime Minister’s efforts to bring complete normalcy and development to J&K.
The rallies also saw participation from local BJP leaders, including Mandal President Karan Singh, Sarpanch Ankush Gupta, ex-Corporator Sanjeev Padha, and Rajni Sambyal.
