KATRA, Nov 25: As part of Annual Sports Calendar of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) University, the Competitions in the disciplines of football, volleyball and basketball got underway at Varsity Grounds, here today.
The Competitions are being organized by the Sports Wing under the supervision of Ashok Kumar, Director Sports and Dr Ajay Sharma, Incharge activities.
21 teams are participating in volleyball boys and girls section, while 8 teams are participating in basketball boys and 7 teams in football boys.
In football, Mid-Night Warriors defeated Bhai XI by (2-0) goals, MBA Warriors got better of Baby and Babies by (2-1) and Small Wanders prevailed over Fresher XI by (3-1).
In volleyball girls, Rockers outplayed Avony by (2-0) sets, while in volleyball boys, TPS defeated 1st Year Cs by (2-1) sets.
Meanwhile, Deadly Shadow thrashed Forever Knights by 38 points (59-21) in basketball boys, while in another match, Mid-Knight Warriors trounced Architectures by 20 points (46-26).
The matches were conducted by coaches Sucha Singh and Ashok Kumar.
