SMVDU organizes Talent Hunt Competition

KATRA, Sept 17: The Board of Cultural Activities Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), under the supervision of its president Dr V K Tripathi and vice-president Anil Bhardwaj organized “Talent Hunt” Competition for its first year batch (UG & PG) 2014.
Out of around 100 participants in the categories of music, dance, literary and fine arts in the first round, 26 were shortlisted for the second round.
In the second round, all the selected participants (from round 1) had to perform in minimum 3 out of 4 categories.
Finally, 10 students (5 boys and 5 girls) namely, Karan Sapolia, Akash, Kaushal Suman, Swapnil, Sahil Thappa, Divya, Aman, Shalini, Sonal and Nidhi were adjudged the winners of round two.
These contestants will now be competing for the titles “Mr  & Miss Fresher-SMVDU-2014”.
Meanwhile, the Board of Cultural Activities SMVDU celebrated the Hindi Divas by organizing “Hindi Kavya Sandhya”.
25 students took part in the event in which they recited self-composed and other poems.
The event was officiated by Dr Varun K Tripathi and Dr R K Jha.
The student co-coordinators were Ashwani Singh, Danish Siddiqui and Shubham Tiwari.
A huge gathering was present at the venue to support and encourage the participants.
