Snubbed by father, class 12th student hangs self to death

JAMMU, Oct 23: A student of class 12th allegedly committed suicide today by hanging self in Sunjuwan area after being snubbed by his father over some issue.
According to a police official, a 20-year-old boy identified as Satyam Sharma son of Yogeshwar Sharma, resident of Sunjuwan, this evening hanged himself with the hook of the ceiling fan at his residence after he was allegedly snubbed by his father over some issue.
He said as soon as the family members noticed him hanging, they immediately shifted him to a nearby private hospital, where he expired at about 4.50 PM. “No suicide note was recovered from the spot of crime”, he added.
“The body of the deceased was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital for postmortem”, the official said, adding that Channi Himmat police has registered a case in this connection and started investigations.
