SRINAGAR, Apr 29: Reacting to the Centre Govt’s decision of not holding talks with Separatists, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president GA Mir has described the decision as worst humiliation to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, saying that the alliance between PDP -BJP has come to an end in true sense, but the lust for power doesn’t allow them to break this unholy alliance.
Snubbing Chief Minister for misleading people on Agenda of Alliance (AoA), as according to her, talks with all stake holders including Hurriyat was on the top of the agenda between them (PDP- BJP), Mir ridiculed the Chief Minister for lying to people on this count also, indicating that both the partners were never on the same page. The people have realized that the Agenda of Alliance was only a power sharing formula between PDP & BJP, Mir said.
Expressing disappointment over the decision, Mir said there is a need to adopt a holistic approach involving all stake holders in order to create a congenial atmosphere to restore normalcy in the Valley.
Mir said Narendra Modi Govt has added responsibility of taking peace initiatives to bring the Valley out of the current fiasco, but the rigid approach adopted will certainly backfire, which will neither be in the interest of Centre nor the State.
Condemning the provocative statements coming from BJP and RSS leaders, from time to time, Mir said that such type of provocation is adding fuel to fire, as a result the situation in the Valley is extremely volatile. He also urged upon the Civil Society of the country to condemn such type of provocation.
He said Congress has always supported talks with all stakeholder including Hurriyat inorder to bring the State out of turmoil and it will continue to support the peace process and initiatives to be undertaken to restore normalcy in the State, especially in the Valley.
