JAMMU, Apr 29: Inderjit Sinha, who is on cycle expedition from Gauwahati for awareness on women and children rights, met Jammu University Vice-Chancellor Prof M P S Ishar on the JU campus, here today.
The VC lauded the efforts of Inderjit Sinha and said the day the society acknowledges women as an individual rather than a commodity, there will an overall development of the nation.
Mr Sinha briefed Prof Ishar about his mission and dwelt on the places he visited and the people as well as social groups he met on large.
Prof Ishar hoped then Mr Sinha’s presence in the State would inspire people, especially younger generation to contribute towards the betterment of society, educate children on high moral values in consonance with great Indian ethos and help the society overcome challenges of the modern age with fortitude and courage.
Prof Isher also hoped that Mr Sinha will inspire youth to inculcate the spirit of camaraderie and motivate them not to get influenced by the negatives of the materialistic age.
Indrajit Sinha is a certified life-skills trainer and the founder-director of a start-up We Are Young Foundation, a Guwahati based youth led development organization.
On February 15, 2014, Chief Minister of Assam, Tarun Gogai had flagged off Indrajit from Guwahati for a tour. During this tour, Mr Inderjit visited Assam, West Bangal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab and finally reached Jammu on April 27 to raise awareness among people and has interacted with more than 3800 young people directly via seminars, interactions etc.
The event is supported by State Level Advisory Committee for Students and Youth Welfare, Assam.
