JAMMU, Jan 20: The Department of Social Welfare today organized a medical camp for the inmates of Nari-Niketan, Bal Ashram and Old Age Home in Kathua.
The medical camp was inaugurated jointly by Director Social Welfare, Dr. Bharat Bhushan and Lalit Aggarwal, Proprietor Satyam Cements & TMT Saria.
Dr Romy Sharma, Gynaecologist, Dr Kamlesh Kumari, Senior Medical Officer from District Tuberculosis Centre & Dr Sulakshana Mengi, noted Paediatrician of Kathua examined the inmates.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Director Social Welfare, Jammu also examined inmates and prescribed treatment. About 150 inmates of these homes were checked by a team of doctors from District Hospital and District Tuberculosis Centre, Kathua.
The Director apprised that the medical camp has been conducted with the support of Lalit Aggarwal and Ameera Gupta, Proprietors of Satyam Cements & TMT Saria and they provided medicines and refreshment to the inmates as part of their Corporate Social Responsibly. The Department took care of other logistics.
Deep Kumar, District Social Welfare Officer, Kathua presented mementoes to Lalit Aggarwal and Ammera Gupta for helping in organizing the camp.
Director Social Welfare also presented invoice of Rs 2 lakh to the Manager of Old Age Home, Kathua as part of Grant-in Aid.
