Sofi elected president of Football Association

SRINAGAR, Dec 2: Fayaz Ahmad Sofi of Maharaja Sports was elected unopposed as the first ever president of District Football Association Srinagar here today.
Since the inception of Jammu Kashmir Football Association in 1964, it is for first time that elections were held for district Srinagar.
DFA, Srinagar has 62 clubs eligible for voting, out of which 46 associate members turned up. There are 10 direct members out of which eight members turned up today.
Mohammad Yousuf Labroo of Azam Sports was elected as secretary and Tariq Madni was elected as Treasurer. All the three Office Bearers were elected unopposed and unanimously.
Former JKFA president Nazir Ahmad Khan was the returning officer for elections that were supervised by noted broadcaster Himayun Qaiser. Sajid Hameed and Mohamad Amin Khan were election observers.
