JAMMU, Mar 28: Nuzhat Gull, Secretary J&K Sports Council inaugurated a three day-long Softball/Baseball5 Championship 2023-24 at Football Ground, GGM Science College, here today.
The event witnessed a huge participation of athletes from 14 districts of J&K Union Territory. Baljinder Pal Singh, Divisional Sports Officer Jammu was the Guest of Honour while Vikas Mangotra was also present as the Special Guest while a galaxy of reputed sports personalities, district unit heads, sports promoters, sports lovers and International Softball athletes were also present in the opening ceremony.
The chief guest highlighted the tremendous steps taken by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council and J&K Softball Association for development & promotion of Softball in particular and other recognized Sports in general as Softball is a recognised and regular event in the Olympic Games and Asian Games.
Over 400 athletes from 14 districts of UT J&K are participating in Sub-Junior (Boys & Girls), Junior (Boys & Girls) and Senior (Men & Women) categories.
