SRINAGAR, Mar 25: The Softball and Baseball5 Championship 2024-25 was inaugurated at Bakshi Stadium, here today by Nusrat Gazala, Divisional Sports Officer (DSO) Kashmir. The event saw participation of athletes across 14 districts of Jammu and Kashmir, competing in Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior categories for both boys and girls.
Gazala emphasized that sports play a crucial role in eradicating the drug menace from society. She encouraged the youth to engage in sports to avoid falling prey to drugs and other social evils, stressing the importance of sports in promoting discipline, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle.
The event, organized by the J&K Softball Association with support from the J&K Sports Council, aims to boost the popularity of softball and other sports across the region. The championship will conclude on March 27, after three days of intense competition. The event’s success is attributed to the technical officials and ground staff for their support in organizing the matches.
