Soham shines at Int’l Grand Master Chess event

JAMMU, Feb 4: Soham Kamotra of J&K achieved 3rd and final International Master Norm here in Bhubaneswar in the ongoing 1st SOA International Grand Masters Chess Festival. Now he needs only 20 rating points to achieve the rating of 2400 to get the International Master Title.
Atul Kumar Gupta Joint secretary AICF and also working president AJKCA, President AJKCA Baldev Raj, Secretary Arshid Ahmed and various other dignitaries appreciated Soham Kamotra for wonderful performance and being the first player from J&K to achieve this feat. They said that AJKCA is giving a continuous platform to players and more players will perform at International level in the coming time. Soham also won a cash award of Rs 80,000 and 5th position in the tournament.
