SoI drubs NSSO to face PAG in CGEWCC Tournament final

JAMMU, Mar 10: Survey of India (SoI) defeated National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) convincingly in the semifinals today and will meet Principal Accountant General (PAG) in the summit clash of the T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committee (CGEWCC) at MA Stadium, here tomorrow.
Earlier, winning the toss and putting NSSO to bat, SoI bowlers restricted their rivals to 103 runs in the stipulated 16 overs. Ajay Kumar top scored with 38-ball 38 runs, while Nitin Saini contributed 16-ball 28 runs and Sanjeev Kumar chipped in with 14 runs. For SoI, Vinod Raina was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 3 important wickets by conceding 30 runs in his 4 overs, while Rameshwar and Shashi Jamwal bagged 2 wickets each and Maheshwar claimed one.
In reply, SoI chased the target easily in 12.5 overs. Lakku Vinayka was the top scorer with 48 runs off 32 balls, while Anish Mathew and Maheshwar Singh contributed 20 and 12 runs to the total respectively. Mahesh Sharma and Nitin Saini claimed one wicket each. Lakku Vinayka was adjudged man of the match for his fabulous knock of 48 runs.
The match was officiated by Vimarsh Kaw and Sham Lal as umpires, while Praveen Sharma and Sunil Khar were the scorers.
The Tournament is being held under the supervision of Rakesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner Income Tax, Ashok Chaddha, Sham Lal, Parveen Sharma, Sunil Khar and Surinder Mohan.
