POONCH, Aug 21: An Army soldier killed self by using his own service rifle in forward area of Mankote in Mendhar Sub Division today.
Official sources said that a jawan of 39 RR, namely- Jasbir Singh, deployed in the forward location near Nangi Tekri in Mankote sector, used his rifle and committed suicide this monrning. In serious condition, he was removed to nearby Army unit hospital by other jawans where he was declared as dead. The Mendhar police has taken cognizance of the matter. It sent the body for post mortem and later handed over to the unit officers.
