JAMMU, Mar 20: Dr Rakesh Kapoor, who hailed from Jammu and is presently posted in the Depar-tment of Radiotherapy in PGI Chandigarh, has been selected for prestigious post of Director of Tata Memorial Centre Hospital at Multanpur.
Dr Kapoor is already serving as the Director of Tata Memorial Hospital at Sangrur.
Dr Kapoor primarily works on carcinoma of lungs, cervix cancer and breast cancer. He did his MBBS from the Government Medical College in Jammu and MD from the PGI Chandigarh.
The TMC is likely to be operational from May. He plans to link research activities of the PGI with the TMC.
The 300-bedded centre is being set up with a project cost of around Rs 450 crore and will be spread across 50 acres.
