Sonu Aggarwal invited to Terra Symposium in Serbia

JAMMU, June 30: Well known female sculptor from the State, Sonu Aggarwal is leaving for Serbia to attend 3rd international terracotta sculpture symposium, being held from July 1 to July 31, 2015 in Serbia.
It is oldest terracotta symposium of the world and every year five to eight artists from Serbia and other countries participate in this art event.
During symposium, Sonu will produce three sculpture, one large and two smaller pieces. These works would be permanently displayed in Terra museum and art galleries.
Sonu Aggarwal, a postgraduate from Vishva Bharati University Shantinikatan is one of the very few practicing women sculptors of the State, who approaches the facets, happening and issues of our day to day life and transform these to visual constructs that open up new vistas of perception for the viewers. Besides, she is the only women sculptor of the State awarded with Commonwealth scholarships from UK for her creativity and   residency programme in South Africa. Other than J&K Academy Award, she has also won awards from Birla Academy, Kolkata and All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society, New Delhi.
