JAMMU, July 12: Councillor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Inder Singh Soodan of Ward number 44 here today inaugurated drain work in Sector 14 of Guru Nanak Nagar.
People of the area were facing a lot of problems in the absence of proper drains and they approached the Councillor Soodan with demand for the repair of the drains as the drains were in very bad condition.
The Councillor took the issue to JMC authorities and got Rs. 27 lakh approved for the purpose and the work in this regard was today inaugurated by him.
Speaking on the occasion the Councillor said that he will also take other problems of the area before the concerned authorities for a resolution.
He asked the people of his Ward to cooperate JMC in making the city neat and clean.
Soodan asked the people of his Ward to stop throwing garbage here and there and use the services of garbage collecting autos which move from door to door daily in the morning.
He further said that the people should stop using polythene and plastic products as these create environmental hazards.
