NOWSHERA, Aug 22: SOS International – an organization for PoJK Displaced Persons today held an awareness meeting for displaced persons here today.
A large number of displaced persons from Bhimber, Kotli, Mirpur, Poonch & Muzaffarabad areas assembled to listen Rajiv Chuni who apprised them regarding their settlement & pending package of Rs. 25 lacs with the State Government.
Mr Chuni said State Government is not sincere to project their case in its true spirit. Instead a lump sum amount of Rs. 34000 crores has been sanctioned for KPs during the last 20 years.
Displaced families from PoJK have always been treated with utter discrimination & are being treated as 2nd class citizens despite the fact that they do posses a 1st class State Subject and registration forms of displaced persons vides J&K State Cabinet Order No. 578 C of 1954. The main hurdles in resolving this issue is Kashmir based Congress & all NC Ministers in J&K Government. They always create unprecedented impediments in its solution.
Recently three Cong Ministers expressed their solidarity with the DPs package pending with the State Cabinet but none other Minister supported them in the Cabinet meeting held last time and remained merely mute spectators when these three ministers from Jammu boycotted the Cabinet proceedings demanding acceptance of the DPs package in the State Cabinet.
Mr. Chuni appealed all the DPs of Rajouri & Nowshera  to unite themselves and come under the banner of S. O. S. International and fight with a strong determination with the Government to protect their rights under the constitutional measures.
Mr. Chuni demanded reservation for DPs children in professional & technical colleges throughout the Country at par with KPs, constitution of a DPs Development Board to look after the overall development of PoJK DPs.
