Soumay, Gokul shine as PG Law & Science enters final

JAMMU, Feb 9: A brilliant all-round show by Soumay Jain and a magnificent batting display by Gokul Baru helped PG Law & Science, University of Jammu to beat Govt MAM College, Jammu by a narrow margin of 12 runs in the ongoing JU’s Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, PG Law & Sciences scored a fighting total of 132 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process. Gokul Baru was the top scorer with 47 runs, studded with 5 delectable boundaries, while Soumay Jain contributed valuable 40 runs to the total with 2 fours and one massive six. For MAM College, Sujja Batti, Rohit Sharma and Sidhant claimed one wicket each.
In reply, MAM College managed to score 120 runs in 19.5 overs by losing all their wickets, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 12 runs. Varun and Sidhant contributed 27 and 25 runs to the total respectively, while Rohit and Saif Ali chipped in with 19 and 15 runs respectively. Soumay Jain was the wrecker-in-chief for PG Law & Sciences, who took 5 important wickets by conceding 18 runs in his 3.5 overs, while Ayesh bagged 2 and Jyoti claimed one.
