South Zone of IRP/AP Battalion scripts win in cricket match

JAMMU, Nov 26: Zone Zone of IRP/AP trounced North Zone by 27 runs in a T20 cricket match at Gulshan ground, here.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, South Zone led by SP Ranjeet Singh scored a fighting total of 154 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Sunil Dutt and Ranjeet Singh scored 54 and 49 runs respectively. For North Zone Amin took 2 wickets.
In reply, North Zone scored 127 runs by losing 5 wickets, thus lost the match by 27 runs. Skipper Balwan was the top scorer with 37 runs. Sunil Dutt was adjudged as man of the match.
Yoginder Kaul, IGP, IRP Jammu was the chief guest, who distributed prizes and certificates among the players on the occasion. The match was organized by IRP 7th Battalion under the guidance of Roop Raj Bhagat, SSP.
