Soz discusses J&K political situation with Sonia

JAMMU, June 3: Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister, Prof Saifuddin Soz, called on All India Congress president Sonia Gandhi, at Union capital on Tuesday evening and discussed the present political situation in the State.
A party spokesman said that on this occasion, among other things, Prof Soz gave her details of the sufferings of the people of J&K State, especially the flood victims of Kashmir valley who suffered the ravages of an unprecedented floods in September, 2014.
Prof Soz emphasized the fact that the previous State Govt had rightly quantified the losses and requisitioned a relief package of Rs 44,000 crores but the Modi Govt rejected the same. He alleged that the Modi Govt at the Centre had done nothing during more than eight months since the September floods and people had suffered great hardships during this period of utter neglect.
The former JKPCC chief requested AICC president to make out the strong case for adequate relief to the flood-sufferers in Kashmir.
Expressing deep sympathy for the people of J&K State, especially the flood-victims, Mrs Gandhi assured Prof Soz that this matter would be raised again at the appropriate levels.
