SRINAGAR, Nov 18: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president Saif-ud-Din Soz today lashed out at National Conference (NC) for its lack of support in empowering Panchayats and development.
“Our coalition partner did not support us. It wasted our three years for empowering Panchayats. We had an agenda to serve you, but they were miser in this and felt the Congress would take the credit. That is why, elections to local bodies did not take place. So, we could not do what we wanted to do for you,” Soz said.
Soz told the gathering that no Government in the State can be formed without the Congress party.
“We want the people of all the three regions of the State remain united. But right now, there is a danger to India from Modi’s politics. Why am I saying this in Bandipora is because that every vote of yours will be against the communalism and for brotherhood and secularism,” said Soz.
The JKPCC president said that the Government at the centre is not that of the BJP but of the RSS.
Earlier, Congress spokesman and veteran Bollywood actor Raj Babbar said that it is the only force in India that can take on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and save from disappointment which the saffron party wants to spread.
Babbar said that a danger is prevailing over the State as the BJP wants to spread disappointment here to capture the whole of India automatically. “If there is a smile on your faces, then there is smile on the faces of the people across the country. I am telling you honestly that a danger is prevailing over that smile of yours… some people have come here..those who rule Delhi want to spread disappointment here anyhow so that they can capture the whole of India automatically,” he said.
Babbar said he earned fame and money in Kashmir but is here for the first time today for a political rally. “Before this whenever I came here, I came to dance and act. I came here to the beautiful Valley, earned money and fame. There is another thing that my family shares a relationship with Kashmir,” he said.
Seeking votes for the Congress candidate Usman Majeed, Babbar said: “I would join you in the celebrations after the party wins the seat”.
