SRINAGAR, Aug 14: S P College Sports Board today organized the Annual College Road Race for boys from Nehru Park to Nishat Bagh, Srinagar. About 61 students participated in the event.
Principal Dr Yaseen Ahmad Shah flagged off the race.
Mir Riyaz-ul-Rashid, B Sc 3rd year bagged 1st position, Taimoor Ahmad Baigh B Sc. 1st Year got 2nd Position while as Naseer Ahmad BSc 1st year was adjudged 3rd in the race.
The Principal highlighted the importance of curricular and extracurricular activities during the prize distribution function and encouraged the students to take part in the forthcoming Intra and Inter College and other recognized tournaments. The Principal presented trophies, tracksuits, sports shoes and medals to the winners of the event. He appreciated the role of the members of the college sports board for well-planned organization of the road race event and also thanked the CMO Srinagar, Traffic Police Department and Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar for their full cooperation in organizing the event.
The Principal also thanked the teaching, non-teaching and local fund employees for their cooperation.
Dr M F Mir, Convener Sports Board and Abdul Rashid Reshi, Physical Director of the college also spoke on the occasion.
