Special Coaching Camp concludes at Shrine Board’s Sports Complex

KATRA, Oct 31: The 10-day Special Coaching Camp organized by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board for the school children of Katra and its surrounding areas in the five sports disciplines of Archery, Athletics, Shooting, Volleyball and Basketball concluded at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex here.
In all, 89 school children of 12-16 years age participated in the camp.
It is pertinent to mention here that these campers, 9 archers of under-14 years of age group took part in the Mini-National Archery Championship which was held at Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh from October 23 to October 28, 2017.
The boys and girls who took part in the Coaching Camp were imparted skills and techniques by the highly experienced coaches in the five identified sports disciplines daily so that they are groomed in various sports and games.
Anshul Garg, Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board, who was the chief guest at the valedictory function, gave away medals to the winners and runners up of various team events as well as those who excelled in the individual events organised during the Special Coaching Camp.
Dr Arvind Karwani, Deputy CEO and Ashok Kumar, Director Sports of the Shrine Board, who were prominent among those present on the occasion, gave details about the activities undertaken during the Special Coaching Camp.
