SRINAGAR, May 6: Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council In collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) kickstarted week-long football festival under the affiliation of All India Football Federation and Asian Football confederation at Synthetic Turf Football here.
A friendly match was played between two specially-abled teams who were chosen from amongst 200 differently abled teenagers of a special school from Solina in Srinagar. The children exhibited special skills at the ground and the spectators were chanting slogans for their respective teams.
Later on, the organizers also arranged a football veterans’ match, which was appreciated by all.
Meanwhile, Secretary, Sports Council, Waheed Ur Rehman Para, who was present on the occasion interacted with the specially abled children and appreciated the sportspersons. He said such events will be held in future also.
Among those present were two International footballers and other top experts of J&K who encouraged and hailed the aspiring sportspersons. The festival shall continue for a week with football activities at different levels, forms and competitions.
