JAMMU, Dec 9: SPIC MACAY’s KV Circuit kick started with the performances at Kendriya Vidalaya (KV) Nagrota and KV Sunjuwan by Padamshri Dr GCD Bharti, known as Bandhu Brothers, the famous Bhajan exponent.
Bharti is the recipient of several awards nationally and internationally, including the top civilian award, the Padamshri which was awarded to him for his outstanding contribution to the field to music in 2013.
Dr Bandhu is on a weeklong visit to the city during which he shall be performing in ten KVs including KV1 Gandhinagar, KV2 Jammu Cantt, KV Damana, KV Bantalab, KV Akhnoor No. 1, KV Akhnoor No.2, KV Raya Suchani and KV Miran Sahib. Dr Bharti is being accompanied by Gopi Bharti, V Pawasanand, C V Vachaspati, Bhushan Singh and Harish ji.
The first two performances were witnessed by around 3000 students who were spellbound and completely mesmerized by the Kabir Bhajans and enthusiastically participated in the conversation with the artists.
Bharti is likely to touch the lives of nearly fifteen thousand students by giving them the meditative experience during the lecture demonstrations. The performances in Jammu are being orchestrated by Dr Sapna Sangra, Chairperson SPIC MACAY J&K and Dr Seema Rohmetra, Coordinator for Jammu region. Deputy Commissioner Kendriya Vidalaya Sangathan, Regional office Jammu, Dr D Manjunath along with T R Choudhary, Assistant Commissioner and the Nodal officer for SPIC MACAY events has extended full support to SPIC MACAY and has constituted a High Level Committee comprising principals to take the movement to every KV in J&K.
