NEW DELHI : SpiceJet Ltd today said it has received the approval of the competent authority for the scheme of reconstruction and revival for the takeover of ownership, management and control of the company. The company has on January 22 received the approval of the competent authority, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, for the ‘Scheme of Reconstruction and Revival for the takeover of ownership, management and control of SpiceJet Limited’ by Mr Ajay Singh in accordance with the application made by the Company, SpiceJet said in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Meanwhile, SpiceJet has started bookings for its summer schedule even as it continued with its turnaround plan. The cash strapped budget carrier had to cancel as many as 1864 flights in December.
