SPMR College celebrates International Peace Day

JAMMU, Sept 21: International Peace Day 2023 was celebrated in Government SPMR College of Commerce by IQAC and NCC Unit in collaboration with Youth Peace Foundation (YPF).
The objective of the program was to create awareness for the fundamental need of humanistic values and peace giving opportunity to participants. Principal Dr. Surinder Kumar enlightened the students about the relevance of peace in one’s life and the steps to promote global peace.
During the interaction, a series of activities were conducted to make the seminar lively and interactive. Animated motivational story, video presentation of the message of humanity and peace by Ambassador of Peace Prem Rawat was started through the PPT.
Prof. Barbara Kaul, HoD Commerce, told the students that happiness is achieved when a person does service to mankind and sees one’s happiness in everybody’s happiness. Prof. Savita Jamwal also advised the students to be disciplined and properly dressed in the college campus and not to indulge in any kind of indiscipline activities.
The team members from Youth Peace Foundation (YPF) were Madan Lal Sharma (Local Coordinator), Ankit Kumar, Simi Sharma, Rohit Verma, Preeti Verma, Mukesh Kumar and Sunil Sharma. The books on the theme “Hear Yourself” by Prem Rawat were presented to the Principal and other faculty of the college.
The whole program was coordinated by Prof. Savita Jamwal NCC ANO and Dr. Monika Malhotra IQAC Coordinator. The function was concluded by Dr. Monika Malhotra.
