SPMR, GDC Udhampur, MIET, Trikuta College, GCET register wins

JAMMU, Dec 18:  Government Degree College (GDC) Udhampur, SPMR College of Commerce, Model Institute of Education and Technology (MIET), Trikuta Degree College and GCET registered emphatic wins over their rivals to advance in the ongoing Inter- Collegiate Table Tennis (M&W) Tournament, being organized by GGM Science College, here.
Earlier, in men’s section, MIET trounced New Age College by 3-0. Abhishek Arora toppled Himanshu Gousami by 11-4,11-9, Sumit Mahajan beat  Lohit Kumar by 11-8, 11-0 and Kanav  Sharma drubbed Pankaj Sharma 11-0, 11-2.
GDC Udhampur thrashed MAM College by 3-0. Rohit Pal got better of Lobzang Zigmat by 11-7, 11-8 and Ankit Sharma outplayed Fayaz Hussain by 11-7,11-4.
In another match, SPMR College blanked GGM Science College by 3-0. Nitan Singh beat Shukal Charak by 11-7,11-3, Ankush Raina defeated Akshay Parihar by 11-6,11-8 and Vishal Raina prevailed upon Prince Tandon by 11-8,11-6.
Trikuta Degree College trounced GDC Kathua by 3-2, Akshat Malguria lost to Pankaj Sharma  by 11-5, 8-11, 6-11, Gyaneshwar Sharma outclassed Dalbir Singh by 11-3,11-9, Mahinder Singh beat Narinder Singh by 11-6,11-5, Akshat lost to Dalbir Singh by 6-11, 9-11 and Gyaneshwar Sharma beat Pankaj Sharma by 11-2, 11-2.
GCET defeated ASCOMS by 3-1. Samandeep Singh beat Rohan Sood by 6-11,11-7,11-9, Harpreet Singh outplayed Vikas by 11-3,11-3, Ajay Mengi lost to Jaskirat Singh by 9-11, 11-6, 8-11 and Harpreet  Singh prevailed upon Rohan Sood by 11-5,11-8.
Meanwhile, GDC Hiranagar got walkover from GDC Reasi, while PG Department got walkover  from GDC Bhaderwah and MBS College got walkover from GDC Poonch.
The matches were officiated by Ramesh Magotra, Ravish Vaid and Amit.
In women Section, GCW Gandhi Nagar beat GCW Parade by 3-1. Nitani Bakshi beat Preeti by 12-10,11-1, Neha Sharma  lost to Aaina Sethi by 4-11,10-12, Tanvi Jamwal beat Dechan Yongdof by 11-7,8-11,11-3 and Nitani Bakshi toppled Aaina Sethi by 11-5,11-5
SPMR College of Commerce got walkover from GDC Poonch.
