JAMMU, Oct 1: Mountaineering Association of J&K conducted Reasi District Sport Climbing competition today at Sprawling Buds School, here.
About 65 budding climbers of Reasi district participated in the day long competition which was conducted in four categories of Junior, Sub Junior and Mini Boys and Sub Junior girls categories. Since many climbers were participating in their maiden competition the competitions were conducted on ‘top rope’ to make them feel safe and secure.
The competitions were conducted under the supervision of Shawetica Khajuria, a national judge in sport climbing and Joint Secretary of Mountaineering Association of J&K. Whereas Shilpa Charak, Mrityunjay Sharma, Ajay Deep Singh, Rahul Sharma and Arun Deep Singh were the Route Setters cum Belayers of the competition, Shivani Charak was the Judge of the competition.
Results: Reasi District: Mini Boys: Asiq Ali, Pranam and Omar Nazir Khan; Sub Junior Boys, Dilbag Singh, Gulab Singh and Ashraf; Jr Boys, Asir Anjum, Jamal Din and Shubham; Sub Jr Girls, Fiza, Akshra Thakur and Neelum Akhtar.
18th State Sport Climbing Competition: Mini Girls, Suniyai, Deepali and Anshika; Sub Junior Boys, Rahul Sharma, Ranveer Thakur and Ajay Kumar; Sub Jr. Girls, Namrita Singh, Ashita and Sukriti; Mini Boys, Harsh Peer, Keshwam Dev Singh Manhas and Vaibhav Thakur.
Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer, J&K State Sports Council was today’s Chief Guest who along with Principal of Amba Kids Home, Panthal, Reasi distributed medals and mementos among the winners.
