Sports climber team leaves for Hong Kong

JAMMU, Sept 7: An International sport climber Shivani Charak of Jammu and Kashmir along with seven sport climbers including four female climbers of India left for Hong Kong to represent India in Asian Cup Bouldering competition. The championship is scheduled to be held in Hong Kong from September 9 to 10.
The other climbers selected are Bharat Pereira and Lokesh Chandra from Karnataka, Aman Verma and Anisha Verma from Tata Steel Adventure Foundation, Jamshedpur, Saniya Farooque Shaikh from Maharashtra, C. Maibam from Manipur and Ritika Rawat from Delhi. Bibhas Roy from Tata Steel Adventure Foundation accompanied as team coach. The team has been sponsored by Indian Mountaineering Foundation, New Delhi.
Meanwhile, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, President; Ram Khajuria, Senior Vice President; Shawetica Khajuria, General Secretary and Sushil Singh, Treasurer of Mountaineering Association of J&K besides Patrons of Tawi Trekkers J&K Ashwani Sharma, former MLA and Rahul Sharma, Chairman Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab, Jammu were hopeful that team would perform to full potential in the continental competition and will bring laurels to the country.
