SRINAGAR, May 27: Vijay Kumar, Advisor to Governor; Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary Youth Services and Sports and Dr Naseem Javeed Choudhary, Secretary Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council congratulated Nahida Manzoor for scaling World’s highest peak.
After the successful expedition, the mountaineer becomes the first female from the State to achieve this unique feat.
The mountaineer had left from the base camp on May 18, 2019 and landed into the record books for her remarkable feat on May 22, 2019.
Pertinent to mention that mountaineer had scaled many summits in the past as well, the prominent ones being Mount Mahadev, Mount Dio Tibba and Friendship Peak in Himachal Pradesh.
J&K State Sports Council and Department of Tourism had provided Rs 15 Lakh to the mountaineer.
